I can promise you, I wouldn’t have touched it if research revealed it was harmful.īacked by Thousands of Dental Professionalsĭental hygienist are some of the most critical and nit picky people I know.
My response to this would be that I just HAD to become an Ambassador after I researched how safe and effective this toothbrush is. I am aware that some will say that I only claim it is safe because I am an Ambassador for BURST. The BURST Toothbrush is one of the most safe, affordable and effective dental products I’ve seen in my 20 year dental hygiene career. This is my honest opinion and attempt to get the facts out there. People will question the BURST quickly because it is new on the scene. Not one person, throughout my career, has ever questioned the lack of the seal on a Big Name brush all those years prior. That toothbrush is the same toothbrush it was prior to getting the seal. Is the lack of the ADA seal stopping you from purchasing? If so, please note that the most popular sonic toothbrush on the market did not receive the ADA approval until 2017 and not all of the models have the approval yet. The ADA does not currently evaluate charcoal products at this time.

Please feel free to pass this information along, as well as the RDA values I’ve posted.ĭoes the BURST Sonic Toothbrush have ADA Seal?Īlthough the BURST has yet to be evaluated by the ADA for the seal, it doesn’t mean it was not approved or was denied. If your hygienist has made these statements regarding the BURST it is because he/she has not done research. I am a stickler with safety especially when I have my children using.
I researched this product thoroughly before recommending. For more detailed information by the ADA on how RDA values are determined please READ MORE HERE There are periodontist( gum specialists) that are beginning to recommend the BURST because of its gentleness after gum surgery and in areas of recession. Check out the list of RDA values below so you can get an idea of just how non abrasive the bristles really are. A product must have an RDA under 200 to be approved by the FDA.

It was recently given an RDA( relative dentin abrasion) value of 86.( full study to be released soon) This is considered pretty low compared to most toothpastes being used.
Results from 5 days of using the BURST Toothbrush ( My daughter)īURST is the only toothbrush to have it’s bristles tested for abrasiveness. Tannins are found in stain causing food and in the smoke from cigarettes The BURST toothbrush produces 33,000 sonic vibrations per minute and the bristles are the softest you will find because of the charcoal absorbing the tannins on the teeth. The PBT nylon bristles are infused with 1.6% Binchotan charcoal nano particles. What kind of Charcoal is used?īURST has been the one to find the right combination of safety and effectiveness with charcoal. Charcoal has natural impurity absorbing qualities that are safe and effective at removing stain and bacteria. The large charcoal particles can scratch the enamel or get stuck under the gums. I DO NOT recommend charcoal toothpaste because the bits of charc oal are too large. The abrasiveness of charcoal depends on the particle size being applied to the tooth. (no signs of damage on her teeth were noted, however.) The only part of that statement that is true is that it does have charcoal in it. She told her because there is charcoal in it, it is too abrasive and she should stop using it. A friend of mine was told by her hygienist recently that she doesn’t recommend the BURST. I’d like to discuss some concerns people have had about the BURST Sonic Toothbrush bristles.
